		<description>after much research and reaching your same conclusion about david butcher, i bought some old tunturi exercycles for about $50 each. we found that using 48vdc 500watt scooter motors was the most economical AND most efficient way to charge 24vdc battery array.  we found that mounting a skateboard wheel directly to the motor and on the exercise bike freewheel we got the proper rpms to generate 30vdc which was perfect for our needs.  we did need TEN of these to generate between 1000-1500 watts.
